Were getting to the pointy end of the season now with some huge finals clashes for our senior women and Juniors and three must win games for the senior men.

Let’s start with the Women first, who will head to Epping to take on Diamond Creek Women’s in the Division 1 Elimination final on Sunday from 2.10pm. The ladies have done well to make the finals this year in Div 1 and will go in as underdogs this week against a quality side. Finals are a different ball game and funny things can happen – like a big Rooster upset win? It’s on the cards! Good luck to Niall and the Ladies, win or lose it’s been a great effort this year. Let’s hope the season rolls on for another week.

Our Juniors are at three different grounds, – Thanks NFNL….. Anyway, it is possible to take in two of the three games. Make a Start at the Under 11’s, who have the must win semi-final 1 against Eltham Black. The game will be at C.T.Barling Reserve on the top oval, kicking off at 10.00. The team have done well this year and had a strong win over the same side last week. As we know, that counts for nothing come Sunday as Eltham will be desperate to turn that result around. Win and we live to fight another day, lose and it’s mothballs. Go hard and best of Luck team!

As the siren sounds at Barling you have a decision to make – do you make a dash for Lalor Reserve and the 14 Boys at 12.15, or to A.K.Lines Reserve at 12.30 for the under 15’s….. decisions, decisions…

The 14 boys will be in action against Bundoora Park. Our boys finished the year on top of the ladder and will be looking to book a Grand final spot on Sunday. They take an 8 game winning streak into the game and some red hot form. With a Grand Final spot on the line Bundoora will be keen to get amongst it, but I’m sure Frank will have our boys ready to fire. After all, the reward is a shot at the holy grail and a weeks rest to boot. Lots to play for, go get em boys… best of luck.

The 15’s head to A.K.Lines Reserve which is a venue most will not have been too, and for good reason. It’s Watsonias’ home ground and they don’t have juniors in the NFNL. The seniors are in Div 2. Rest assured it’s easy to find. Just head down Grimshaw street and turn right into Peters street and you’re there – with a little zig zagging at the end.

As for the game, we’ll go in as underdogs against a high quality Yarrambat side who have been beaten just twice this year, including last week while we had our feet up resting thanks to a forfeit from Research. The boys won’t be daunted by the task at hand. Our best is good enough, and with a Grand Final spot on the line we’ll be fired up from the opening bounce at 12.30. Get along and cheer the boys home!

We are again hosting finals at J.E.Moore Park and as always are looking for helpers on the days. If you have some free time Sunday pop on down and see what you can do to help out.

Saturday is the last home game for the seniors. We take on Hurstbridge after the disappointing road trip to Monty last weekend. This is a must win game! We’re still sitting in 5th spot but with the chasing pack nipping at our heels we need the win to make it to the finals to defend our Crown. 2.10pm – be there.

The Reserves will be looking to consolidate 3rd spot on the ladder with a big win over Hurstbridge. The boys have been playing good footy of late and will be confident going into this one. Although finals appear a lock the 4 points on Saturday will assure the season extends beyond the home and away games. Scotty will have the boys primed to avoid any complacency. 11.55 the umpire raises the ball.

And the day kicks off with the 19’s up against Eltham 2. It was a tough affair first time around and this will be no different. For the boys to be any chance to play finals this is a must win and of course fingers crossed for results elsewhere going our way. 9.40am the boys will be ready – make sure you are!

We’re done. Enjoy the footy. To all our sides this week, good luck – let’s bring home 7 wins. Wouldn’t that be nice.?.?

See you at the footy.
