First up a reminder about this Saturdays “Wild Wild West Preston” function. Fancy yourself as a Cowgirl/boy? Well here’s your chance to prove it! $30 includes entry, drink on arrival, entertainment and the Bucking Bull – yes Bucking Bull inside the rooms! Dress in your finest country outfits, or whatever takes your fancy. Tickets available tonight at the rooms see Jacko (0466 366 163) Mel (0419 418 465) Joel (0401 072 322). This wiill be whip cracking affair don’t miss it.

To the playing action – Both the Netballers and the juniors are back and of course the Seniors roll on.

The Under 19’s kick off the weekends action with a Friday night clash against the Bulldog Bloods from 7.00 at Bundoora Park Oval, located at Snake Gully Drive Bundoora. The Bloods have improved a lot since our first meeting and will provide far stiffer competition this time around. What better way to start the weekend? Unless of course Netball is more your go…

In which case head on out to Morang South Primary school for a 9.00 start as our girls take on Laurimar 4 in what should be an engrossing affair.

Saturday has the big boys on the road to Lower Plenty with both seniors and reserves looking to bounce back from last weeks losses.

In the early kick off 11.55, Scotty will have the boys ready to go againts a determined opponent. We snuck home by 6 points at home first time around, in a lucky win to be honest. We’ll be looking for a more comfortable outing this time around. With big Condo back from his Honeymoon (seriously who gets married in footy season?) and a game under his belt, look for the big man to tear this one apart!

Then it’s the One’s turn from 2.10pm. The 4 game win streak came to a crashing halt last weekend. But It all started with our first win of the season in a dominant display against Lower at home. We’ll be looking for a similar result this week to keep the pressure on those above us. You take nothing for granted in footy and Lower will be determined in front of their home crowd to give a good account of themselves. This should be a feisty affair. Don’t miss it and then back to the rooms for the bucking Bull!

To the juniors on Sunday

U17 away at Diamond Creek 3.00. Solid win last time out by the boys and will take another big effort this week to get the points.

U16 away at Montmorency 3.00. Quality side Monty and will take the best we have to offer to get the win in this one. We’ll be up for it!

U15 home vs Yarrambat. Match of the day without doubt as the top two sides go at it in what promises to be a high quality game of footy. You don’t want to miss this one – Strap yourself in for a classic encounter.

14 boys home vs Panton Hill 11.30. Our boys have been taking all before them prior to the break. I’m sure Frank will have been guarding against complacency this week. With the top 3 sides all on 24 points a win is a must to push for the double chance.

14 girls are away at Montmorency white 12.00. Our girls had a good couple of weeks prior to the break and will put their improved form to the test against the second placed Monty. This will be a good challenge for our young ladies and the Messiah will have them primed from the start. Be ther or be square!

U13 home vs Yarrambat 10.00. After a great fighting effort last time out, the team has a winnable match this week. It won’t be easy but with the same effort and commitment of recent weeks, Yarrambat will know they have a fight on there hands. The Legend will be in fine voice, come and have a listen and watch a quality game of footy.

U11 away vs research 10.15 – note that game to be played at A.E.Cracknell Reserve, Panton Hill. Doesn’t get much bigger than this! A win will see our crew two games clear in 4th spot, a loss and even points with Research with three to play. It’s all on the line, expect the sparks to fly.

U10 have an extended break with a bye this weekend which is a bugger, they will be hungry next weekend!

U9 Red home vs Montmorency Black 9.00 top oval as always with the 9’s expect the unexpected, always fun to watch.

Ditto U9 Blue home vs Eltham White 10.15 top oval. Expect the highlight reel to flow in this one as the kids turn it on, don’t miss a second of the fun.

We wind it all up with the Senior Women at home 3.00 against Bendigo Thunder. The ladies will be looking to bounce back from the last week loss and send Bendigo packing with a dominant display at the home of footy. To celebrate NAIDOC week the ladies will be wearing a jumper specially designed by player Nikita Rotumah with pre game ceremony at 2.30. What better way to wind down your sporting action.

And as they say in the classics, thats all folks, enjoy your sports watching weekend.
