With no Junior games this weekend or Netball you would think we could take a bit of a breather but no – the action does not get any hotter than this weekend with a blockbuster Sunday arvo clash at the home of Footy……

More on that shortly, but first get down to the rooms tonight. Meals will be in full swing with a slight twist – I believe It’s “pasta night” tonight instead of the usual fare. Should be delish, a special shout out to our normal canteen crew who are having a bit of a mid-season break. It might just have something to do with 50 years of Wedded Bliss. Enjoy your holiday and Congratulations Sue and Dennis. 50 years, that’s like two life sentences without parole….

To the onfield action. Saturday has our under 19’s seeking redemption at Hurstbridge from 9.40. After the disappointing effort last week, they will be hungry to inflict some punishment on the Bridges as the boys look to keep in touch with the finals contenders to that end. This is a must win so with nothing else to do. Head out to Hurstbridge nice and early – it’s a lovely little spot for an early morning drive. Get along and support the boys and then relax for the rest of the day as Sunday is HOT.

Greensborough are in the house Sunday yes Sunday, ok just to be Clear Sunday, we got that…. Good.

Between the two Greensborough sides, they are 20 -0, about time that changes I think.

They are red hot, no doubt about that, but then so are our mighty Roosters! On the strength of 4 wins on the trot in both Seniors and reserves our boys are looking pretty good.

In the early game, Scotty and the boys will be looking for a fast start and to keep the peddle to the mettle as we look to snap the losing streak. last time at War Memorial park the boys were in the contest deep into the last quarter with the same effort this week an upset is well and truly on the cards. 11.55.

At 2.10 the match of the Round kicks off as the Red Hot Rooster’s take on the slime. Hhard to think 4 weeks ago we sat bottom of the pile and now find ourselves sitting in 5th spot. With a bit of luck come Sunday night we could find ourselves a game clear! (Keeping a lid on it.?)

Greensborough, touched us up a little while ago but much has changed since then and this will be a cracking contest. With our boys in form and high on confidence this is the chance to well and truly announce to all and sundry that we’re back and a force to be reckoned with. You really don’t want to miss this one so clear the decks, and get on down to J.E.Moore Park for what promises to be the best days home action yet… On Sunday…..

Sadly the game clashes with another massive affair as the Senior Women are in action at Montmorency for a 3.00pm kick off for the second Grand Final rematch of the year. Our girls got back in form last week with a great win over Bundoora and will be looking for a repeat effort Sunday in what should to be a hard fought affair.

So you have a choice to make, but make sure you get to one of the grounds for some red hot Rooster action.
