What a weekend of action awaits us. It’s simply Sparkling – It must have been to our wonderful Sponsor “TruShine Detailing – Where Passion Meets Quality” and got itself a spruce up!

Trushine have become the No 1 destination for auto dealerships, private owners and enthusiast car club’s since opening the doors in 2003. So whether you’re searching for full detailing, interior detailing, paint correction, aftermarket care, window tinting and a lot more, you can trust in the reliability, quality and expertise of the TruShine team in Thomastown

www.trushine.com.au or email troy.d@trushine.com.au or over the phone on 03 9041 5660 or mob 0411 259 752 and make sure you tell them you’re a Rooster!

To the upcoming action… Friday night the netballers get us going against Heidelberg West 2 from 7.20 on court 2 at Parade College. After missing out on a game last week the ladies will be pumped for this one and would love to have some support from the sidelines. So if you can, get along and show some support.

Saturday our under 19’s head to Central Park in Eltham to take on the Panthers in a must win affair as they look to charge up the ladder and into finals contention. Eltham sit one win above us on the ladder so a win is essential as we look to climb the ladder. After last week’s nail-biting loss the boys will be fired up to get this one secured early. Don’t miss the start from 9.40am. It’s then a quick dash to Hurstbridge where the Reserves and Seniors will be waiting for you.

In the 11.55 kick off Scotty will be hoping the boys make light work of the opposition after the last few weeks. He’s been checking the batteries in the defibrillator just to be sure – and not just for him! Boy have they provided a rollercoaster ride of late. The ladder would suggest this should be a stroll in the park, but as we all know nothing can be taken for granted in a game of Footy, so best be prepared from the start boy’s and make it an easy day at the office for the coach…..

At 2.10 the seniors will look to make it three on the trot in this must win affair. Hurstbridge took down Bundoora last week away from home, so will be brimming with confidence back on their home deck for this one. With Cameron Cloke back in the fold they will provide a stern test. If we’re fair dinkum about charging up the ladder, nothing but a win will do. We’ll have to wait on a few phone calls from the VFL to see who’s available this week, but rest assured the 22 heading out will be fired up from the bounce down to bring the 4 points back home.

Sunday it’s a Massive Day at Home with 8 of our 10 sides gracing the hallowed turfs of J.E.Moore Park. Both grounds will be in full swing for most of the day. Up top the kids of Under 9 Blue kick us off with a clash against Eltham Black from 9.00. As always with the under 9’s you can expect nothing but a highlights reel this should be no different. Strap yourself in for a ride.

Next up will be the Under 9 Red team who’ll continue to take you on a ride of a lifetime, quite possible taking it to even higher levels as they educate Northcote Blue in the art of Football, all from 10.15.

If you haven’t passed out from all the excitement yet then take a deep breath as the Under 11’s then take up residence to dish out more of the same. This time it’s the kids from Yarrambat providing the test. We have meet once already this year and we got the job done that day, So Brad will be looking for more of the same this week. We sit a game outside the top 4 so a win is a must, the umpire will raise the ball at 11.30.

Still kicking? Good! To round out the top oval delights for the day the Legend will send out his u13 outfit against the kids from Epping. With his Beloved Blues having the bye this week there are no distractions so he can focus totally on the task at hand and that’s to get a win on the board to reward the kids for all the hard work they have been putting in. 1.00pm don’t miss it… And that’s the top done….. (once this one is over sneak down the bottom cause the 17’s will be about to start! You know you want to… )

The Main Deck action kicks off a bit later with the under 10’s taking on the Bears of Thomastown from 10.15am. Adrian’s team have been playing some exciting footy over the season and certainly know how to put on a show, so you don’t to miss a second of the action…… It will be worth it.

Next in line the under 16’s with Mernda providing the test for the day’s activities from 11.30. This should be an even affair. We’ve yet to meet this season so were not quite sure what to expect. One thing is for sure, Mernda can expect a fired up Rooster outfit looking to charge up the ladder.

Now this is not a miss-print … Having taken in the sensation action of the under 16 you should get up and move about a bit, get the blood flow going again and then settle back down to watch the Under 15’s who Host a well credentialled Eltham outfit who with a 4/4 record for the year will be looking for a win to move up the ladder. I think it’s safe to say our Boys might have other ideas about that…. 1.15 the siren sounds.

That leaves the under 17’s to bring down the curtain on a massive home stand as they take on Kilmore from 3.00. Kilmore are two games above us on the ladder but we shot ourselves in the foot last time at Kilmore when we kicked 2.15!! Yes 2.15! Do I need to say it again? No twice is enough. Clearly we had our opportunities last time out, so we’ll be looking to make the most of them this time around and send the boys in light blue back up the highway with their smiles turned upside down.

Phew! That still leaves us with both our 14’s who are on the road. The boys take the drive up Plenty Road – or Yan Yean Rd, if you’re looking for the slightly more rural route to Laurimar, to take on the Teal brigade, who like us sit inside the top 4 so the stakes are high in this one. Frank and the boys have been of Fire of late and will be looking to sustain the roll with another win against quality opposition. Game kicks off at 11.30.

The Girls Combine Also head up Plenty Road, or Dalton Rd it that takes your fancy (I think Plenty road would be quicker not by much a few min’s maybe?) but make sure you turn off at Mernda as that’s the destination for our young ladies this week. We’ve not had the pleasure of meeting Mernda this year and judging by the ladder positions this one should be another tight contest. After last week’s fighting effort, No doubt the Messiah will have the girls pumped and ready to go at the opening bounce which is at 1.30. Dave has not given up hope on a late finals charge. If it’s going to happen then it all starts here. Go get em girls.

The Senior women have the daunting task of taking on the very strong VU Western Spur outfit who have taken all before them this year, away at Henry Turner Reserve from 3.00pm. The ladies are making a great fist of it this year in Div1, but this will be the biggest test no doubt as VU look to protect an unbeaten start to the year. Whilst it’s a bit of a drive out to Footscray, the team would love to have some support on had to cheer them to the upset of the season so far. If you can make the trek, get out there and see how the other half live.

That’s the playing side covered, to some club matters, Bogan Bingo is this Saturday and last minute tickets are still available. Your best bet would be to pop in tonight and get them at the bar, spots are limited so don’t sit on the fence! Pop in and grab your ticket and while you’re there enjoy a refreshing drink from the worldly gents behind the bar, Including the now on Tap, Great Northern Super Crisp Mid Strength beer and why not grab a meal while you’re at it and stick around for the highly entertaining Quiz with our quiz masters Valeri and Co. Then hear the team’s first hand. The Eagles and Bombers will be on the telly so what are you waiting for?

That’s it, the Car’s looking brand spanking new – Thanks TruShine…

We’ll see you at the Footy…
Go Roosters.
