Sudden Death has an ominous ring to it doesn’t it, and that’s what both our teams face as we head back to PCO this Sunday for Cut Throat Semi-Finals – have you got the picture yet? We have to win or it’s all over for 2019. Not that it’s life and death, there are other more important things in the world like….?? Something will come to me – but for now, actually Winning Sunday is all that Matters!

The two sides go in with vastly different week one experience, the Seniors in Red Hot Form and the Reserves looking to find there Mojo.

In the early game 11.55, the boys take on Montmorency, looking for a bounce back after last week’s disappointing outing.

The intensity was down and in finals, well that spells disaster. The boys have been one of, if not the best pressure sides in it this year, and will need to bring that big time against Monty. Despite two wins over them in the home and away a 3 point thriller back in round 8 and a comfortable 26 point win at Monty in Round 15 it all counts for nothing come Sunday.

Monty were very impressive dismantling Heidelberg last week end and looked full of running, so the challenge is there for our boys. Scotty spoke after the game last weekend of not letting the opportunity slip and he will no doubt have them revved up and ready to fire from the opening bounce. Let’s get it done boys! Good Luck.

To the Seniors, and after last week’s brilliant victory set up by a stunning first half in the dry, and then some solid wet weather footy the boys go into the First semi full of Confidence. We’ve not played Heidelberg since round 6 when we had our chances but eventually went down late by 23 points – after losing in round 1 at home by 34 points.

A lot of water has gone under the bridge since that round 6 encounter which had us rock bottom at 0- 6. We’ve been on a bit of a charge since then, going on an 11-2 run, which also counts for Nothing come game time. The Tigers will be a tough nut to crack. They very nearly stole a miracle victory last week coming from 10 goals down to lose by a few points. You can be sure they will come out snarling, so we need to be ready to match it from the start and not let up – it promises to be one of the games of the season….

Sunday’s forecast at time of writing and let’s not forget this is Melbourne so change is likely but as for now, Min 8 – Max 13, 80% Chance of Showers, most likely during the afternoon and evening. Possible Hail… Winds Westerly 15 to 25km/h don’t worry about the direction at PCO it will be straight down the middle to the Bell St End…. So bring your poncho’s!

Get along to the rooms tonight, for a bite to eat, watch the boys go through their paces and of course hear the team’s first hand. No doubt as always at this time of the year selection will be difficult.
