Well we’re getting to the pointy end of the season now… Preliminary Final weekend! It only gets one Bigger and that’s what we’re aiming for as we head to PCO on Sunday as a spot in the Grand Final awaits the winners.

Yes we head back to Preston City Oval Sunday, looking for the same results as last week.

It won’t be easy but then with a place in the Grand Final at stake, you would expect nothing less…

The reserves will kick us off at 11.55 taking on Bundoora again for a spot in the big one. They touched us up in the first week of finals, maybe it was a bit of stage fright? Over confidence? Who knows, but we bounced back last week against Monty and if the boys bring that intensity this weekend that will go a long way to getting the win on the board.

Scott and the boys have worked too hard this year to let this one slip. We have an enormous amount of experience in this side, mixed with a blend of youth and vitality it makes a for a great little cocktail. Get there early this one will go off from the opening bounce.

The senior’s then take on North Heidelberg. Our boys have played brilliantly over the first two weeks of the final’s, recording comfortable wins over Monty and last week Heidelberg and will be looking for another team effort this weekend with a ticket to the big one on offer and a shot at Greensborough.

In the two meetings this year we took a bit of a beating at Shelley Street in Round 3 going down by 12 goals as we slipped to 0-3, by Round 14 back at the home of Footy our fortunes had turned and we handed out our own 10 hiding to square our home and away games..

Finals of course are a different beast all together. The pressure goes up a notch and the cream rises to the top.

North Heidelberg are coming of a bad loss last week and have a few under an injury cloud, which history tells you, makes any side very dangerou. We certainly won’t be underestimating them. This will be a battle to finish, but if we continue to show the form we have over the second half of the year and into our finals campaign, I have a feeling you will be reading one more preview for the year.

It promises to be a great game. To Robbie and the boys, best of luck. The Rooster army will be with you, loud and proud as always.

To all our Rooster’s fans, get there early to support both side’s wear your colours and make some noise! PCO really is in our back yard, so let’s make it sound and feel like a home game.

To off field matters. Get to the rooms tonight grab some Dinner, a light refreshment, some tall tales will be told, some true, some slightly embellished and some just down right untrue… Always a fun night, the quiz is worth the price of admission alone (Free before you ask!) and of course the team’s first hand from Robbie and Scott, no doubt some tough decisions to be made yet again.

It’s presentation weekend for the Juniors, the 17’s will be at the Darebin RSL on Friday night to bring down the curtain on the boys junior football careers, with the remainder of the juniors being at Moore Park on Saturday from 3.00 with our Wonderful Sponsor Chew Burger providing some delicious burgers for the kids. Once the season is over head on down to Chew at 147 Plenty Road, for a great feed and let’ em know you’re a Rooster when your there – The Best Burgers in the World.

And don’t forget to book your tickets for Senior presentation which is Thursday the 26th September at the Sovereign on St. Georges Road. $110 per head, 3 course meal, Beer, Wine and Soft drink included.
Contact Robyn on 0407 112 253 or Marie on 0419 170 494 to book. You can also arrange at the rooms tonight, or pay direct the club account BSB 633-000 Account no 145178646 using your name as reference.

Just in closing, we posted earlier this week about R U Ok? Day which just happens to be today. If you have not seen the post, check it out on team app, Facebook or the club website. Iit’s a simple question but it can make one hell of a difference to someone suffering in silence. Get around your loved ones and your Rooster family you truly can make a difference with those simple words.

That’s it, let’s get ourselves two more wins this Sunday and keep this magical ride going one more week….

See you at the footy.
Go Roosters.
